A Cardiff City fan has been discharged from hospital after falling from the stand at Millwall celebrating the Bluebirds opening goal. Ryan Oliver, a 35-year-old Cardiff fan from Rhondda, toppled over the edge of the stand while celebrating the opening goal of the match against Millwall at the New Den on Saturday.
Incredibly, he survived the 20ft fall with only three broken fingers and minor spinal damage. He was treated by paramedics at the scene and has been discharged after further treatment at King's College Hospital in London, with doctors confirming that he will return to full health.
"He is a very, very lucky man," said a Met police spokesman. "His injuries are not life threatening."
