Cardiff chairman Ridsdale to step down

Chairman Peter Ridsdale looks to be on the brink of leaving Cardiff City, reports BBC Sport. Malaysian businessman Datuk Chan Tien Ghee is due in the country on Friday to work on a £6m investment to take a 49% shareholding in the club.

That will enable the club to overcome Wednesday's final winding-up hearing in the High Court when they have to settle a £1.9m tax bill.

Ridsdale has always claimed he will end his five-year association with the club when its financial future is secure.
