Cardiff chairman cools talk over Derby's Earnshaw

Cardiff City chairman Peter Ridsdale admits Derby County striker Robert Earnshaw is too pricey.

"It is a situation which seems to have been blown out of all proportion," Ridsdale told the Western Mail.

"I made a call to Derby, I am making 20 calls like that a day, and was told Earnshaw was not going to be put out on loan and that is that at this time.

"That was the answer then and we will have to see if that stays the same. I am aware how enormously popular a move it would be to bring Earnshaw back and I know how the supporters feel about him.

"But there is not a cat in hell's chance of us paying a transfer fee for him or for anyone else at this point in time for that matter."
