Cardiff City captain Steven Caulker admits he's chasing an England recall.

Caulker hopes to catch the eye of England coach Roy Hodgson against Manchester United today.

He told the South Wales Echo: "I came to Cardiff from Spurs because I wanted to be playing matches and I am enjoying myself.

"It wasn't tough to leave Spurs because I wanted to play Premier League football week-in, week-out.

"For six months when I was with Tottenham I wasn't playing and that was a frustrating period.

"Your confidence goes and I needed a fresh challenge and fresh start.

"Signing for Cardiff has revitalised me and enabled me to work on the defensive side of the game which is what I wanted."
