He told the South Wales Echo: "I came to Cardiff from Spurs because I wanted to be playing matches and I am enjoying myself.
"It wasn't tough to leave Spurs because I wanted to play Premier League football week-in, week-out.
"For six months when I was with Tottenham I wasn't playing and that was a frustrating period.
"Your confidence goes and I needed a fresh challenge and fresh start.
"Signing for Cardiff has revitalised me and enabled me to work on the defensive side of the game which is what I wanted."
