Dave Jones is desperate for Cardiff's transfer embargo to be lifted, but insists he and his players are ready to give it their all. The Bluebirds are unable to register new signings Tom Heaton and Daniel Drinkwater until the ban is lifted while the arrival of further new faces is something Jones is having to do without.
Jones, who is also coping with the departure of Joe Ledley and injuries to Jay Bothroyd and Stephen McPhail, told the club's official website: "There are one or two other things that we're looking at and things we're trying to do but we've got to get the embargo lifted off us - and if it doesn't then we have to go with what we've got.
"We've got to be ready whatever happens. We can't hold up the start of the campaign and I know that behind the scenes they're working hard for it to happen, while I'm trying to get players in as well.
"But when you go down the loan system, which we have to do at the moment, other teams aren't going to let players out until they know what they are going to do. In some case we might have to wait until they've picked their 25 but there's no point in sulking about it, you've just got to get on with it."
