Cardiff boss Mackay urges fans not to panic over lack of early signings

Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay has urged fans not to panic if there aren't early signings through the doors this summer.

Mackay said it might be a case of playing the waiting game when it came to getting the players he wants.

"The fact is some deals are going to happen quickly and then others are going to take a while to happen," Mackay told the Western Mail. "It really is all about individual cases.

"I would love every player in to do pre-season with me, go away with me and be here for the start of the season - but invariably they are not.

"There is going to need to be a bit of patience, but I think our supporters already know that when they look at the way we've gone about our signings over the last two seasons.

"This season will not be any different.

"It will be about identifying our targets and we are working hard to do that now.

"If we can get those then that's great, but we must have others on our radar so we can then try to push on and get those.

"I would like everyone in tomorrow, but that is never going to happen."
