Cardiff boss Mackay tightlipped on week's controversy

Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay refused to discuss the week's controversy, nor even Iain Moody's axing, yesterday.

The Daily Mail says in a 23-minute briefing he took a handful of questions on the saga and then attempted to 'draw a line' under it.

"I'm only talking about Chelsea" - or a variation on that theme - was then trotted out six times in response to further questions about Moody, including when Mackay was asked if he had met Alisher Apsalyamov, his new 23-year-old recruitment chief.

Mackay said: "I am really sorry for our fans. I am as disappointed as they are."
