Cardiff boss Mackay finds positives in Mutch performance

Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay was pleased with Jordan Mutch's performance in defeat to Newcastle United.

Half-time substitute Mutch was the driving force behind their fightback, backing up his match-winning contribution at Fulham.

Mackay acknowledged the former Birmingham man's form was making a strong case for his inclusion in his starting XI.

The Scot said: "All my players are making a case for a start and he is a top young talent. He has a lot of talent.

"He has lots of facets to his game. There are areas where he can improve, but he took the game by the scruff of the neck.

"It's about players taking their chance."
