New Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay is eyeing Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy.

And the former Norwich defender will make another ex-Canary, Bellamy, his first target.

Bellamy had just broken into the first team at Carrow Road when Mackay arrived from Celtic in 1998.

Mackay said: "Craig did well for Cardiff last year, and he is one of those X Factor players."

New manager Mackay, 39, takes over from Dave Jones on a three-year deal.
