Cardiff City boss Dave Jones is delighted with their capture of Arsenal prospect Jay Emmanuel-Thomas.
Emmanuel-Thomas has arrived on loan from the Gunners until the end of this season, and Jones hopes further deals can be done with his side currently just two points off an automatic promotion place.
He said: "We have monitored Jay since the start of the season. Arsenal were looking to send him out to a Premier League club, so we had to be in the wings and be patient.
"We are pleased to get him, and we worked hard to get him. There were quite a few clubs chasing him.
"If I can persuade the board to let me have as many players as I can, then I will do that.
"It's going to be a long, long push now, and the more players you have around you the better it will be. Good competition around the place, good quality.
"The lads here have done brilliantly so far to get us into the position we are in - you can't fault them for that.
"At the moment, we rely a little bit too much on the youngsters here, and they are probably not ready to go for that big final push, but to be around it and see it will give them great experience."
