Cardiff City boss Dave Jones has admitted some bitterness over the way he was treated by Wolves.

After winning promotion last year, Wolves boss Mick McCarthy's funds were TREBLED and the Irishman has reaped the rewards by beating the drop against all the odds.

Jones said: "It was a fantastic achievement to win the play-offs but people forget I also had 3½ years in the top flight with Southampton.

"The Premier League is the best in the world and I want to get back there. It's the only place you want to be as a manager, coach or player.

"Wolves didn't invest then and if they had done what they have done now, maybe I'd still be there.

"But the board wanted to go down a different road and it was a bitter pill to swallow."
