Cardiff City have issued a statement saying Malky Mackay has been relieved of his duties. A statement on the official website of the Bluebirds posted a short time ago confirmed that Mackay had been sacked.
"The Board of Directors at Cardiff City Football Club have today relieved Malky Mackay of his duties.
"A new first team manager will be appointed and announced in due course."
