Cardiff City are closing in on Blackpool winger Thomas Ince.

The Daily Mail says Cardiff have agreed to meet Blackpool's £8million asking price for winger Ince.

The Premier League newcomers are prepared to pay the figure Blackpool quoted to Crystal Palace for Ince, which includes a guaranteed fee up front plus add-ons. It is still far from certain that Ince will move to South Wales, however, with Liverpool having an option to match any bid for him under the terms of his move to Blackpool from Anfield two years ago.

Liverpool also have a 35 per cent sell-on clause which means they could sign the 21-year-old for an initial figure of just over £5m.
