Captain Neville not happy with Everton mates

Everton skipper Phil Neville has told his teammates to get back to basics and start producing results. The Toffees are still winless in the Premier League and that misery was compounded after Tuesday's Carling Cup exit at the hands of League OneBrentford.

Neville has urged his mates to pull together to notch up some much-needed victories and hoist themselves out of the drop zone.

"Sometimes winning football isn't pretty and our league position suggests winning football is the only way to go," he said.

"There's no point blowing smoke up each other's bums. We're just not producing.

"The expectations are what we always wanted so we can't get to the stage of getting it, and then be fearful of it. Hard work will get us back.

"Forget Champions League football, forget Europa League football.

"Focus on Saturday (against Fulham) and just winning. Maybe at the start of the season we looked at the end of the season rather than concentrating on the now."
