CAPITAL ONE CUP - quarter-final: Chelsea storm into semis with crushing win at Leeds

Chelsea have powered into the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup courtesy of a 5-1 victory over Leeds United at Elland Road tonight.

The Blues produced a huge second half with all goals coming after Luciano Becchio put the Whites ahead eight minutes prior to the break.

The Argentine striker put the Championship side ahead with a counter-attacking move which ended with him tucking home Jerome Thomas' squared cross.

Chelsea were coming off their 1-0 loss to Corinthians in the Club World Cup final in Japan on Sunday and could have been excused for jetlag but they came out firing in the second 45 minutes.

Juan Mata made it 1-1 two minutes in when he struck home with a first-time effort from Victor Moses' layoff before Branislav Ivanovic headed in Frank Lampard's 64th minute corner.

Soon enough it was 3-1 as the visitors applied the pressure with Moses firing past Leeds keeper Jamie Ashdown from the edge of the area prior to Eden Hazard getting on the end of David Luiz's pass to slot home.

The rout was complete when Fernando Torres tucked home easily after Lampard was denied by Ashdown with Hazard picking up the crumbs to supply the Spaniard.

Chelsea now find themselves in the final four of the league cup competition where they will face Swansea City. 2012/13 Capital One Cup quarter-final
