Liverpool are fuming with England boss Fabio Capello over his demands on Steven Gerrard.
Capello insisted on the Kop captain travelling 400 miles south to meet his medical staff after the club announced Gerro would be out for between seven and 10 days with a slight groin tear - sidelining him for tomorrow's friendly in Germany.
Gerrard travelled to the England camp in London where medics inspected the injury yesterday morning and was immediately released to return home for further treatment.
Liverpool are outraged at Capello's hard-line stance and fear Gerro's recovery could be further delayed by the journey.
Reds club doctor Mark Waller is a long-standing member of the England medical team, working with the Under-21s.
