Fabio Capello rated Manchester United midfielder Ashley Young as the worst player on the pitch for England against France last night.

The former England coach's 'Capello Index' is being run during the Euros this month.

No player matched the 75.01 awarded to Alan Dzagoev in Russia's 4-1 win over the Czechs on Friday, but the Capello Index did deem England to be better than France - just: the England average was 0.04 better than their French rivals.

England: Lescott 70.89, Parker 64.92, Terry 64.77, Gerrard 63.69, Cole 63.26, Oxlade-Chamberlain 62.17, Hart 62.07, Milner 61.60, Johnson 61.04, Welbeck 60.75, Young 58.09. Average: 63.02
