Capello thanks Croatia's Bilic for firing up his players

England manager Fabio Capello has thanked Croatia boss Slaven Bilic for firing up his players ahead of Wednesday night's World Cup qualifier at Wemlbey.

The Italian tactician believes Bilic's recent comments in regards to shutting down Wayne Rooney have given extra motivation for his players to succeed.

"I say thank you Mr Bilic. I don't need to say anymore. This is the best team talk. I have no need to motivate my players after this," Capello said.

"Rooney, with me, if I remember well, he's only done one not so good tackle. Only once. Afterwards, he played always well. Provocation means nothing for Rooney.

"I'm finished on that now. Only thank you to Mr Bilic. He has prepared the game for me. He tried to provoke a reaction. For me, thank you. That's fantastic assistance."
