England boss Fabio Capello dismissed questions about two-goal Tottenham striker Peter Crouch after last night's victory over Egypt.
Crouch replaced Jermain Defoe at the interval.
But Capello snapped: "If Defoe had scored two goals - and he had two chances - then you'd have asked me why I substituted him?
"But yes, Crouch is one of the most important players.
"Today it was better to start with Defoe to know whether he and Rooney can play together."
