England boss Fabio Capello intends to recall Everton defender Phil Jagielka for their friendly against Spain next month.

The Daily Mail says Jagielka is in line for an England recall after taming Fernando Torres in front of national boss Fabio Capello in Sunday's Merseyside derby at Anfield.

Capello is preparing to name his squad to face Spain in Seville next month and Jagielka can expect to win his second cap as reward for an outstanding run of form at the heart of Everton's defence.

Just as in the 1-1 Barclays Premier League draw with Liverpool the previous weekend, Jagielka hardly put a foot wrong as he helped his side to an FA Cup fourth-round replay after another 1-1 deadlock.

Capello looked on from the directors' box and was sufficiently impressed to pencil the Manchester- born 26-year-old centre back into his plans for the February 11 clash with Spain.
