Capello raging after being 'undermined' by FA in front of players

England coach Fabio Capello feels the FA has undermined his leadership after dumping Chelsea skipper John Terry as captain.

Sources close to the 65-year-old said Capello feared England stars no longer see him as the boss because he had been powerless to stop the controversial move.

“The players are like lions – you have to show you are strong, you cannot afford to let them see any weakness,” one associate of the Italian told the Daily Star.

“When he came four years ago it was agreed with the FA he would have to be seen as the ‘boss’ of the team if there was to be any chance of England having success.

“But by removing Terry as captain against his wishes the FA has undermined his authority with the players.

“And they have done it four months before the European Championships, which is hardly the ideal way to prepare for the tournament.”
