Capello offers cryptic encouragement to Inter Milan

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti is ready to test Fabio Capello's commitment to the England cause. Capello rejected reports of interest from Inter on Monday night after England's friendly win over Mexico.

But Gazzetta dello Sport says long time observers of Capello suggest his reaction to the Inter speculation is not cut and dried.

Capello said: "My name is linked often to Italian teams, Juventus was the first, now we talk of Inter. To me it is fine, but I want to clarify that my head is now full with the World Cup."

It's suggested Capello was telling Moratti, 'if you want me, I am available - but don't bother me during the World Cup'.

With Inter top of the tree, Capello would have the chance of overseeing a third golden era at an Italian club after his success with AC Milan and Juventus. The England coach has already declared his admiration for the squad built by Moratti and his offsiders, Marco Branca and Lele Oriali.

And the chance to succeed Jose Mourinho and maintain Inter's success may prove too difficult to refuse.
