England boss Fabio Capello believes Middlesbrough winger Stewart Downing can become a major international star.

Asked which players have impressed or surprised him most, Capello told the BBC: "Because he plays with big confidence, Downing.

"I know, really, the movement, he plays like the team, good quality and with a lot of confidence.

"It's very strange, it's not easy to play the first or second game like him."
