England coach Fabio Capello has hinted Chelsea ace Frank Lampard will again be ignored for their next qualifier against Wales.
Capello steered clear of delivering a coup de grace on the Chelsea midfielder.
But a few simple words from the England manager were still stark enough to warn Lampard that he is no longer the automatic choice for England's No 8 shirt.
Capello said: "He [Lampard] is one of the best English midfielders, but I need to choose the player and not the name. At this moment, Gareth Barry is in really good form.
"Lampard needs to play more games. The first two games he has played have not been good.
"The last time he played he was a little better, but I need to choose the player who is in a good moment of form.
"I don't know what will happen for the Wales game because there are two training sessions before then. But he is part of the squad."
