England manager Fabio Capello said he was happy with the problem of having plenty of good players to choose from.

After the 3-1 victory over Egypt in an international friendly at Wembley on Wednesday night, the Italian tactician had the luxury of substituting Tottenham's Jermain Defoe for his club teammate Peter Crouch at half-time and it proved a winner as the latter netted twice in the second half to help the Three Lions to a win.

Capello said it was a nice problem to have with so many good players in his squad and praised Crouch for his performance.

"He's one of the players, one of the forwards. I'm happy. I have to choose from a lot of players, it's good," he told ITV1.

"Crouch is a big option for me because sometimes you can play long ball. Today we didn't, and he played very well with one touch, two touches. In the second half he made the difference."

Capello added that he was happy with the overall performance of his team although it took them until the second half to get on the scoreboard.

"No, in the first half we had a lot of chances but didn't score," he said.

"I changed some players but I was also happy with the first half. I said to the players to press more to win the ball back quickly and in the second half we did that."
