England boss Fabio Capello says David Beckham will prove a successful signing for AC Milan.

Capello said of the LA Galaxy star: "AC Milan have made a good purchase, if you will. At Real Madrid, I took him off the team because he had signed a contract with Los Angeles.

"But he continued to come to the camp and train and challenged for a place in the team.

"He's a very serious guy, very good, a professional.

"What you think of him off the field, which comes from the media, is not true at all."
