Former Juventus coach Fabio Capello has revealed how Ajax were eager to offload Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a youngster.
Juve stepped in to sign the then young Swede after scouts urged Capello to take the gamble.
The Italian recalled to Sky Italia: "When he came to Juventus, he was not good at shooting, and (agent) Mino Raiola told me at the time: 'Zlatan is very strong, he breaks the hand of a keeper'.
"I responded: 'Listen, the only thing he has so far broken, are the windows in the gym'.
"Then Ibrahimovic started training every day, as everyone knows he has taken huge steps."
On signing Ibra, Capello added: "Juventus grabbed him for sixteen million euros and spread the transfer fee over four installments.
"At Ajax they had decided that he would not be a good player. They preferred to keep Mido, who was easier in dealings.
"Also at Juventus Ibrahimovic had some problems, for example with Jonathan Zebina, but that ended up all fine."
