Cantona expects Man Utd to bounce back

Eric Cantona is of the belief that his former club Manchester United will be back at the top of English football very soon.

The French great, who won four league titles with the Red Devils in the 1990s, has seen David Moyes' current side drop to seventh on the Premier League table this season.

It appears as though United will miss next season's Champions League, which would be a disaster for a club of such high standards, but Cantona is not fretting too much.

"Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs in the world. They have been at the highest level for 20 years, and I think they will come back very, very soon," he said.

"At every big club it is sometimes like this, but they have proved in the past they have the level to come back and I'm sure Manchester United will come back very soon."

Of Moyes, who replaced the great Sir Alex Ferguson in the summer, Cantona added: "I think he has a long-term project. At the moment it is not very good, but maybe next year it will be great and everybody will see.

"But I think he is strong enough to handle the pressure."
