Australian defender Shane Cansdell-Sherriff scored a brilliant goal as Shrewsbury Town were knocked out of the Carling Cup overnight. The 26-year old hit a sweet left-foot volley on the turn in the 74th minute to level the scores at 3-3 before Ipswich Town went on to win 4-2 on penalties.
In a thrilling encounter, Cansdell-Sherriff scored the sixth goal of the match after the Shrews went behind, then equalised and hit the front, then went behind again.
The loss sees them eliminated from the cup in just the first round.
