Fabio Cannavaro hopes to sign a new contract with Real Madrid in the coming weeks.
AS says Cannavaro's agent, Gaetano Fedele, will be in Madrid for the final week of January to discuss terms with Real sports chief Pedja Mijatovic.
AC Milan have expressed interest in Cannavaro, but the Italy captain has informed Fedele that his priority is to remain with Real.
