Real Madrid defender Fabio Cannavaro admitted they wilted under the aggression of Liverpool last night.

After their humiliating 4-0 Champions League thrashing, Cannavaro conceded: "This is a good team, but we need a lot more to compete at Champions League level.

"We need more teamwork, more power ... today we faced a Liverpool that was superior to us at all times."

The Italian also said: "We started badly, Liverpool left us behind and went on the attack, pressing high up and we couldn't settle in the first twenty minutes."
