Fabio Cannavaro is set to put pen to paper on a new deal with Real Madrid.

The Italy captain has been linked with a return to former club Napoli, but Naples sources say he has agreed to extend his current deal a further 12 months.

Real are yet to confirm the news, but all indications are that Cannavaro will be staying in Spain for season 2009/10.
