Canadian broadcasters secure Champions League and Europa League games

Canadian broadcasters TSN and RDS will broadcast Europe's top club soccer competitions until 2018, after signing new rights deals with Uefa, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/. Beginning in 2015, TSN, which airs in English, will provide coverage of more than 190 games from the Uefa Champions League and Uefa Europa League each season.

That programming includes up to 16 group stage games each week, plus coverage of the knockout phase and the finals of both competitions.

French-language RDS, meanwhile, will show live coverage of three of the best matches each week from both competitions. Coverage will be spread across the network's RDS, RDS2, and RDS Info channels.

Subscribers of both networks will also be able to access live streaming and on-demand viewing of both competitions through their respective online and mobile services. TSN has also picked up the Canadian radio rights to the two competitions.

Additionally BeIn Sports Canada, the Canadian arm of the Al Jazeera-owned network, has sublicensed a package of rights from TSN and RDS.

As part of that element of the deal BeIn will air more than 55 Champions League and more than 90 Europa League matches across its various platforms each season.
