Canadian billionaire Lawrence Tanenbaum eyeing Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest are set to go Canadian.

The Sun says billionaire Canadian Lawrence Tanenbaum is leading the race to become the new owner of Nottingham Forest.

Tanenbaum - chairman of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment - is understood to be in negotiations with investment bankers Seymour Pierce over the Championship club.

Negotiations between the 67-year-old tycoon and Seymour Pierce are believed to be making progress since Forest staved off relegation under manager Steve Cotterill last month.
