Canada coach Hart disappointed after 'slow' performance against USA

Canada national team boss Stephen Hart admitted the performance of his team against border rivals USA on Tuesday was disappointing.

The Canadians lost 2-0 to their neighbours in their opening Group C match at the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup in Detroit and Hart said that his side failed to react after Jozy Altidore scored an early goal for the US.

"Once we went behind, we took way too long to settle down," Hart said.

"We weren't getting the ball forward. We were very predictable. We were moving the ball slowly.

"Too many players didn't want the responsibility of the ball. We know what we need to do."

Canada will now look ahead to Saturday's clash with Guadeloupe in Tampa after the island nation lost 3-2 to Panama yesterday.
