Campbell pleased to contribute in Cardiff's draw with Man Utd

Man of the Match Fraizer Campbell was simply pleased to have contributed to a positive result for Cardiff City on Sunday.

The 26-year old striker scored the Bluebirds' first goal in the eventual 2-2 draw with his former club Manchester United at the Cardiff City Stadium, slotting home Jordon Mutch's lovely pass just after the half-hour mark.

Campbell felt it was a hard-fought performance from Cardiff and was delighted to have gotten something from a fixture they may not have been expected to do well in.

"We've got a good bunch of lads here and that's what the manager gets into us. He says, 'fight right til the last minute' and that's what we've done today. We've ground it out like we've done in previous games," he told Sky Sports.

"With the champions coming to town, you know it's going to be a tough game but we've come out of is positive. We've played some good stuff and we've got a point on the board. It's great for confidence. We've got Arsenal next week so hopefully we can take some of that confidence into the next game."

Of youngster Mutch's influence, Campbell added: "Jordon's capable of passes like that. He does it training every week and he's done it again today, I'm just grateful to be on the end of it."
