Former Portsmouth and England defender Sol Campbell was at Notts County's Meadow Lane yesterday.

Campbell, 34, met the Magpies' director of football Sven Goran Eriksson and chairman Peter Trembling for dinner on Thursday.

And the centre-half chatted with fans as ex-Three Lions boss Eriksson officially opened the new club shop yesterday.

Campbell has met with Newcastle and Hull but County have offered him a coaching role.

But last week boss Ian McParland dismissed speculation and said: "I don't want big-time Charlies."
