Former England defender Sol Campbell is intent on joining a Championship club as soon as possible before looking at a Premier League return in January.

The ex-Tottenham, Arsenal and Portsmouth man walked out on League Two club Notts County after signing a lucrative five-year deal and appearing in just one match last month and is keen to tie up a contract as soon as he can.

The 35-year old centre-half has held talks with West Brom recently and the long-term prospect of signing with the interested Hull City in the top flight remains an option.
