Sol Campbell has dismissed suggestions that Portsmouth have punched above their weight this season, insisting they will have under achieved if they fail to beat Cardiff in the FA Cup final and qualify for Europe.
Harry Redknapp has transformed the club since riding back into town to drag them back from the brink of relegation in 2006 and, with such fears now a thing of the past, Campbell thinks his side should be setting their sights high.
"I think we've got to stop talking about over-achievement," he said in the Portsmouth News. "Too many guys here have been at the top and it's time to move away from those kind of comments.
"The players are here and we need to get away from the kind of mentality where we should feel pleased about finishing eighth.
"We've really got to knuckle down, train right and make sure everybody is focused and up for the game on Saturday.
"We want to get into Europe and that is now our only chance. Forget the FA Cup - we've got to train right, win the game and get ourselves into Europe.
"Winning the FA Cup would be fantastic, but the main objective is Europe. It's difficult when you lose games but we have really got to concentrate on the weekend now and make sure we get our preparation right and our attitude right."
