Portsmouth management expect Sol Campbell to be available for their next Premiership clash against Liverpool in eight days' time.

Campbell has now missed four of Pompey's six games this season after being struck down by groin and hamstring problems.

But after consultation with specialists this week, Campbell's been given the all-clear to step up his recovery. He was today back in rehabilitation under the guidance of Pompey's medical team as they begin to nurse him back.

And they are optimistic he could be available for selection as early as a week tomorrow for the visit of Rafa Benitez's Premier League table-toppers.
