Campbell determined to help QPR avoid drop

DJ Campbell is desperate to get back to action so he can help QPR avoid relegation this season.

The 31-year old striker has managed just three starts for a total of 10 Premier League appearances this term because of various injury problems but is determined to get himself right and assist the club in their plight to stay in the top flight.

"My recovery's going really well and it shouldn't be long before I'm back in full training. It's been a disappointing season because of all the injuries, with my metatarsal and then my hamstring," he told the Fulham Chronicle.

"I'm a QPR fan and it's been tough seeing us struggling, especially as I've been unable to do anything about it. Even when I have played I haven't been the same DJ as last season as I haven't been fully fit.

"But I've been doing extra work in the gym to make sure I come back stronger and fitter than ever for the run-in."
