Camilo on fire as Vancouver Whitecaps ace lands another MLS weekly award

Camilo Sanvezzo has been named the MLS Player of the Week for Week 20 of the 2013 season.

The 24-year old Brazilian striker, who tops the MLS scoring charts on 12, scored a double as Vancouver Whitecaps defeated Chicago Fire 3-1 at BC Place on the weekend.

Camilo made it 1-0 in the 66th minute when he received a long ball from goalkeeper Brad Knighton before taking on two Fire defenders, advancing into the area, and slotting past Paolo Tornaghi.

He then doubled the 'Caps lead six minutes later when he got on the end of a defence-splitting through ball from Kekuta Manneh and attempted to round Tornaghi who initially got the better of him before Camilo steadied and fired home from an angle.

Vancouver went three ahead in the 85th minute through Manneh before Patrick Nyarko pulled one back for the Fire at the death.

Camilo was voted in by the North American Soccer Reporters for the third time in his career for the weekly award and second time this season, following his two-goal effort in Week 17 against Chivas USA. It was the fourth time in the past five weeks the prize has gone to a Whitecaps player.
