Cameroon confusion over West Ham's Barcelona loanee Song

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce admits he is unsure whether or not Alex Song will play at the 2015 African Cup of Nations.

The 27-year old midfielder, who is on a season-long with the Hammers from Barcelona, was originally left out of Cameroon's squad for the CAF tournament in Equatorial Guinea after a fall-out with manager Volker Finke.

It is believed that pressure was placed on Finke to then include Song in his roster but fresh reports claim the former Arsenal star has performed an about-face and may not play for the Indomitable Lions.

Of the issue, Allardyce said: "He's out there. We're not absolutely certain if he's staying there or not.

"There's been a bit of confusion over it but we'll find out in the next day or so."

Cameroon are drawn in Group D of the 2015 AFCON with their opening fixture set for January 20 against Mali in Malabo. They will also come up against Ivory Coast and Guinea during the group stage.
