Cambiasso scoops Leicester Player of the Year award

Esteban Cambiasso has been named Leicester City's Player of the Year for the 2014/15 season.

The 34-year old Argentine midfielder was voted in by the supporters as the best Foxes player for the campaign, beating striker Jamie Vardy and goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel to the prize.

The Inter Milan legend was delighted to win the award but insisted that guiding the Leicestershire club to safety was the most important aspect of his debut campaign in England.

"I want to say thank you to all the supporters who voted for me, but for me the most important trophy I can have is Leicester City playing in the Premier League next season," he told Foxes Player.

"I'm a team player, and I'm more focused on the group achievements, but still I want to thank the fans for voting for me. In any match we play they are unbelievable. I have enjoyed this season with them, and I hope they've enjoyed the season too."
