Inter Milan midfielder Esteban Cambiasso has penned an open letter to fans thanking them for their support.
The Argentine was driven to tears by Inter boo-boys during the draw with Catania.
"The other night at San Siro I had an emotional reaction borne from the great love I have for my profession and it coincided with this difficult moment for Inter.
"Those who know me realise what I felt and am feeling. They know how hard I worked in my career, on the field, to get where I am, always putting the interests of the team in front of my own.
"And to respond to many trying to use this incident in the media to peddle clichés recently, I have no fear in confessing the other night I even took a weight off my shoulders: that way nobody can ever again say I am untouchable.
"Don't worry, I have already emerged from this situation, convinced that it will help me find greater strength and motivation.
"Thank you again for the wonderful messages, Cuchu.""I was truly struck by the many shows of affection I received over the last few days and it is pleasing for me to thank everyone who wanted me to feel their support," he wrote on his official website.
