Colin Calderwood is delighted with his move to Newcastle United.
The former Nottingham Forest manager joined the Toon coaching staff last month and is now working with Chris Hughton as boss Joe Kinnear recovers from his heart operation.
"It's wonderful to be here," Calderwood told nufc.co.uk.
"But the role hasn't changed that much.
"Between myself and Chris I was always there to assist and be another voice on the training ground.
"What happened to Joe is not something that anyone would have wanted to happen and we hope is back soon.
"But in the meantime we have a job to do and I'm enjoying the challenge and it's great to work with some excellent players."
