Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon admits they made a bid of £50 million for Manchester United ace Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer.
"We will bring him to Madrid when Manchester United wants to sell," said Calderon last night. "The player wanted to come but then when he saw that his club would not let him leave, reconsidered his position and said he was very happy in Manchester.
"We must accept it, it is the law of the market.
"For example, to sign (Rafael) Van der Vaart, we had to sell (Julio) Baptista."
