Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon will make a renewed attempt for Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo next year.
AS says Calderon is desperate for a big-name signing next summer as it will be the final season he is in charge before elections in 2010.
The Real supremo has already informed sports director Pedja Mijatovic to focus everything on buying big at the end of the season, with Ronaldo top of the shopping list.
If United successfully resist Real's bid, the Madrid giants will turn to Lyon youngster Karim Benzema.
