Gary Cahill is hopeful Chelsea fans will not turn on Frank Lampard should he play against them for Manchester City on Sunday.
Lampard left Chelsea after 13 years in the summer and vowed he would never join another Premier League side.
However he agreed a six-month loan at their title rivals having initially joined MLS club New York City.
The 36-year-old is Chelsea's all-time leading scorer with 211 goals and Cahill told Standard Sport: "I'm sure our fans will give Frank a good reception if he plays."
